Animal Prints
Especially leopard print. I love leopard print! I love leopard print today as much as I did back in 1999. To me, leopard print is a neutral. I like cheetah and zebra prints too. I think every room could use a little animal print. Cheetah, leopard, or zebra, take your pick!
The key word is little. Don't do this!
Do this instead!
Great chair! Image from here.
Beautiful! Image from here.
I love leopard print carpet! It acts as a neutral with the chinoiserie wall covering and fabric. I special ordered my leopard print carpet for our family room from Home Depot six years ago and I have yet to tire of it. Room by Joe Nye.
More leopard print carpet!
The zebra print bench adds some excitement to this neutral room.
Even just a pillow looks great.
So pretty! Image from here.
One of my favorite bedrooms! Featured in Lonny.
Miles Redd
Nice! By Jamie Drake.
Another gorgeous bedroom with leopard print carpet. Love it!! From Miles Redd.
Do you have any leopard or zebra print in your home? If not, then you should add some. A little animal print will always be chic!

Decorating Classics #2
Blue and White Ginger Jars
Why? We had some in my house as a kid and that was20, ok, 30 years ago. I think they are here to stay for a while! They look just as good in a modern setting as they do in a traditional setting. Check out places like Garden Ridge, Hobby Lobby, and Homegoods as well as thrift stores and estate sales. And if you have more $ to spend, check out Wisteria, Williams-Sonoma Home, or ebay.
I especially love it when lots of ginger jars are grouped together! Image from here.
Blue and white looks good with red and celadon.
Looks good with neutrals.
Just looks good! Image from here.
Barclay Butera. They even look good with leopard print! The ginger jars, not Barclay Butera.
Katie Rosenfeld. A big ginger jar on the dining room table makes a big statement.
Miles Redd. Blue and white ginger jars look great paired with red!
So go out and get yourself some blue and white ginger jars! They are so versatile and you will have them for a long time!

Top 5 Decorating Classics
Decorating classics are pieces that are timeless. These are elements that will be around for a while. They are never trendy. These top 5 decorating classics will most likely not make it on a decorator's list of no-no's.
#1 Antiques
Why? Antiques give your room elegance. Don't worry if you have not inherited anything! Check out your local antique mall, flea market, or even thrift store. I see pieces there all the time! Just paint them in a fun glossy color to add timeless style to your interiors! Here are some of my favorites!

Decorating lessons learned from fashion
I love this outfit from Kendi. The blue shoes are so unexpected with the taupe dress and gold jewelry. This outfit kind of reminds me of this room.
The dark blue walls and pillows work well with the taupe chair and gold accents. A great color combination in your wardrobe and your home too!
Another darling outfit from Kendi. I love the bright blue and red floral skirt mixed with the striped shoes and polka dotted blouse. I often like to mix patterns in my home, but not with my clothes. I will now though! This outfit kind of reminds me of this room.
It has a mix of bright blue and red and yellow. It also has an interesting mix of patterns. They don't match, but somehow they work together, just like Kendi's outfit.
So pretty! I love the bright pink dress paired with the orange purse! It reminds me of this room.
A beautiful pink and orange bedroom from Melissa Rufty. So vibrant!
Decorating lessons Kendi has taught us today:
Neutrals look good with unexpected pops of color.
Do not be afraid to mix patterns.
Pink and orange DO look good together!
Y'all have a great weekend!

Do You Do It?
Barclay Butera does it.
Miles Redd does it.
Anne Coyle does it.
Meg Braff does it.
Palmer Weiss does it.
Tobi Fairley does it.
Phoebe Howard does it too.
Windsor Smith does not do it.
Jeffrey Bilhuber does not do it.
Celerie Kemble does not do it either.
Do you do it? Do you karate chop your pillows? I do. Some designers say that karate chopping pillows is a big faux pas. Michael Smith even said that karate chopping your pillows should be punishable by jail time! However, I like a karate chopped pillow. What do you think? To chop or not to chop?
