Valentine's Day In My Dreams!

My Valentine's evening will begin with me soaking in the tub, reading the latest House Beautiful, and sipping a Dr. Pepper.  House Beautiful.

While the kids play quietly and harmoniously!  Lonny Magazine.

I will then head to the kitchen to put the finishing touches on our dinner from Panda Express.  House Beautiful.

Before hubby gets home, I will pop into the powder room to wipe the orange chicken stain off my shirt.  Oops!  Lonny Magazine.

Once hubby gets home, we will then head to the living room for a few cocktails.  Or maybe another Dr. Pepper.  House Beautiful.

After that, the kids will join us for dinner in the dining room.  Phoebe Howard.

After dinner, the kids take a quick bath and brush their teeth.  House Beautiful.

After reading daughter M a story, she goes right to sleep.  Shannon Berrey Design.

And when I put baby W down in his crib, he also falls right to sleep.  I did say this was a dream, right? Lonny Magazine.

We will then head to the family room to watch Minute To Win It.  Love that show!  Have you seen it?  House Beautiful.

After the show is over, we will head to bed for nine hours of uninterrupted sleep!  Elle Decor.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Lisa Luby Ryan: Then and Now

There is a shop in University Park that I have to go to every time I am in the area.  If it is night and the store is closed,  you will see me peeking in all the windows.  The shop is Vintage Living owned by designer Lisa Luby Ryan.  Here are a few pictures of her beautiful shop:

Below are pictures of a house that Lisa decorated back in 2003.  I have a magazine with this house in it from 2003 and I absolutely loved it back then!  The other night, my husband was perusing the real estate listings and showed me a house he thought I would like and it was that same house!  He knows me so well.  The house has not changed at all from the photo shoot back in 2003. Here are some pictures of that house from the listing.

Whenever I am in the area, I not only drive by Vintage living, but I also have to drive by the house below.  It turns out that this house was decorated by Lisa Luby Ryan also!  I think it is interesting how her style has evolved since 2003.  Her style used to be more English with darker colors, now it is light and airy and more French.   I love the house below and was so excited to see the inside after driving by the outside so many times trying to peek in without scaring the owner!

The outside has such curb appeal with the gates.  I just love it!

Isn't that living room gorgeous?

The dining room, which actually used to be a bedroom.

the kitchen, I might actually learn to cook in this kitchen!

The pretty master bedroom. This is the only bedroom in the house.

So which style do you like best, 2003 or today?  I love her style today!  I really like the white walls and  the light colored furniture that she uses versus the dark colors that were so popular back then.

This house was also featured in Veranda Magazine, November, December 2010.

Here is an interesting article about this house.

Kate Spade's New York apartment

I know this has already been shown a lot, but I love Kate Spade's New York apartment.  I love all of the artwork.  I get a lot of inspiration from these pictures.  I hope you do too!

Love that painting above the fireplace!  It actually inspired a painting I had my husband do for my dining room.

11_4_10_AndyKateSpadeE44755

Unique accessories.  Interesting artwork in the background.

11_4_10_AndyKateSpadeE44756

I love that painting too!

11_4_10_AndyKateSpadeE44758

Great blue and white striped chair.

11_4_10_AndyKateSpadeE44761

This is a great way to display your photographs!  They are mostly all silver, which keeps it from being too overwhelming.

11_4_10_AndyKateSpadeE44762

Good shot of the living room.  The abstract painting adds so much interest to this traditional room!

11_4_10_AndyKateSpadeE44769

The entry hall.  Artwork looks neat!

11_4_10_AndyKateSpadeE44770

Another shot of the entry hall.  Love the mirror and the artwork.

11_4_10_AndyKateSpadeE44772

I love all of the black and white in the kitchen.

11_4_10_AndyKateSpadeE44774

Bar in the kitchen.

11_4_10_AndyKateSpadeE44776

Not sure which room this is in, but again I love the artwork and the way it is grouped together as a collection. It makes a big impact!

11_4_10_AndyKateSpadeE44777

The office, I think.  Cool blue chair!

11_4_10_AndyKateSpadeE44786

I love the yellow and white bed with the gray walls.

11_4_10_AndyKateSpadeE44789

Cool painting in the dining room!

11_4_10_AndyKateSpadeE44792

I love the Asian wall paper in the bathroom!

11_4_10_AndyKateSpadeE44797

Another shot of the living room.

This traditional apartment is taken to another level with all of the unique accessories and artwork.  As you can see, these two aspects really make a difference!

Bedroom Inspiration Part 2-Colorful

Here are some bold, colorful bedrooms that inspire me!

I like the colorful bedding and the artwork in this bedroom featured in Lonny Magazine.

I really like the matching headboard and bed skirt with the white bedding in designer Palmer Weiss' bedroom featured in Lonny Magazine.

This is a very glamorous bedroom also featured in Lonny Magazine.

A very bold bedroom!  Love the orange and turquoise and the pagoda lamp.  From Lonny Magazine.

That black and white Chinoiserie wallpaper looks so dramatic!  The room would not be the same without it.  From Lonny Magazine.

I love the shape of this headboard!  I also like the black walls, but I don't think I could paint mine!  From Lonny Magazine.

Cute pillows!  I am always on the lookout for cute pillows like these!  From Lonny Magazine.

Again, I like the black walls with the white bedding.  From Lonny Magazine.

Another shot of the above bedroom.  I need a fireplace for my bedroom!

I really like the mix of patterns in this room.  The scale of the patterns with heavy doses of white keep it from being too busy.  From Lonny Magazine.

I like the graphic headboard mixed with the floral and all of the white.  From Lonny Magazine.

I love the mix of the pale blue with the bright orange!  So unexpected!  From House Beautiful.

So what do you like best?  The serene and restful bedrooms or the bold and colorful bedrooms?  I am in trouble because I like both!!
