More Meg Braff

I hope everyone had a nice weekend!  Looks like summer is finally here.  Speaking of summer, this is the summer home of  Meg Braff, featured in the June 2007 issue of House Beautiful.  I could move right in.  I would even stay there all year long!

Meg Braff herself sitting on the staircase with some decorative goodies. I Like the seagrass runner on the stairs.

Love all the patterns in this living room.  Great Asian screen hanging on the wall.

Another shot of the living room facing the den across the entry way.  It is hard to believe that Meg has 4 kids!    4 boys!!

Love that tall pagoda.  I have a small collection of pagodas, none of them very tall though.

Bold and dramatic dining room!

Neutral kitchen.

The master bedroom with a lovely color palette of lime and coral.

Love the red and white Asian wallpaper in the bathroom.

A shot of the sitting room.  Love that trellis wallpaper!

A shot of the dressing table in the master bedroom.  Looks like a nice place to start your day.

Another shot of the beautiful sitting room.

Love those bamboo pens.  Need to get some for myself!

A red, white, and blue room perfect for a boy.  Love the seagrass on the floor.

I love this room, especially the pagoda lamps.  If you've got 4 boys, you definitely need a feminine space like this for yourself!

Kitchen eating area with bamboo dining chairs.  Meg painted the chandelier red.

The den is my favorite room in the house.  Love the mix of patterns and the stripes on the walls!  And the pagodas on the mantle!

designers who inspire #4 meg braff

Meg Braff is a designer whose rooms I really like!  Her interiors are definitely Palm Beach Chic.  As you can see from the photos below, all the elements of the style are present.  The colors used in these rooms are so fun and unexpected.  They just scream happy!  All images from House Beautiful.  To view her portfolio, go here.

The pictures below were in the latest issue of House Beautiful.  The beautiful home is located in Palm Beach.

MONOGRAMS ARE A MUST!

Pillow cases, pillows, slip covers, cocktail napkins.  Pick up pillowcases from Target and Walmart for cheap and have them monogrammed.  Big impact for little money.

WALLS

Colorful wall paper, grass cloth, brightly painted walls, white walls.  If wallpaper is not in the budget, then paint! Designer Meg Braff, the queen of Palm Beach style, says that she likes to paint her walls white to let the artwork and bright colors pop.  I agree!

LAMPS

Gourd lamps, vintage 60s and 70s lamps, simple unadorned shades.  Check out thrift stores and estate sales for 60s and 70s lamps.  Don't let the shades scare you.  You can always buy new shades at Target.  Homegoods, Target, and even Lowe's have a good selection of lamps.

ARTWORK

Brightly colored abstracts, framed vintage photographs, bird prints, quirky paintings.  Thrift stores are the best place to find fun artwork.  If you can't find something you like, buy a canvas and paint something yourself!
